Common Name Dalessandro's Electroplectris [Ecuadorian Orchide Enthusiast current]

Found in Loja province of Ecuador at elevations of 1250 to 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of adpressed to the ground, broadly elliptic, obtuse, dark green with silver venation, cuneate below into the short petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer, fall and winter on a terminal, erect, with laxly 8 to 10 loosely adpressed, acuminate, decreasing in size upwards, to 6" [to 15 cm] long, loosely several flowered inflorescence.
"According to Dodson this species is similar to Eltroplectris rossii but E dalessandroi is half as large in a dimensions, the lip is unlobed and the spur apex is free for the last.04" [1mm] only. In our oppinion E dalessandoi is more similar to Microchilus pauciflorus but the plant of E dalessandroi is smaller, with larger leaves, smaller perianth segments and a shorter spur."
