Found in Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina in low forests as a medium to large sized, cool growing terrestrial with glabrous, dark green, elliptical-ovate, 4 to 6" pseudo-petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall through early spring on a 16" [40 cm] long, few flowered, erect inflorescence with 6 to 7, lanceolate bracts and linear, acute, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
