Common Name or Meaning Bocourt's Encyclia [Cuban orchid Enthusiast and collector of species current]

Found in Guanahacabibes Peninsula, Cuba in the extreme east on xerophytic shrubs in limestone areas along the coast near sea level as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte, with ovoid, rounded in cross section, enveloped basally by scarious, triangular sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, erect, thick, coriaceous, narrowly lanceolate, acute, conduplicate below into the base leaves that blooms in the later spring on a slender, erect, sparsely paniculate, each branch 2.4" [6 cm] long, each branch 2 flowered, overall laxly flowered, overall 8 to 20" [20 to 50 cm] long, to 12 flowered inflorescence with triangular floral bracts.
