Common Name Dasilva's Encyclia [Brazilian Orchid Researcher current]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Para' state of Brazil in rainforests at elevations of 50 to 100 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, coriaceous, smooth, oblanceolate, cymbidiform, acute to subacute leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, sparsely paniculate, to 12" [to 30 cm] long, rachis to 6" [15 cm] long, to 10 flowered inflorescence with small, shorter than the pedicellate ovary floral bracts.

Very similar to Encyclia granitica and cited as a synonym of but differs in the smaller flowers, shorter rhizome, smooth margins of the tepals and the lateral lobes of the lip are shorter and farther from the midlobe of the lip while E granictica has larger flowers, a longer rhizome, undulate tepals, larger lateral lobes of the lip and they are close to the midlobe.
