A Southern Brazilian, small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte found in humid montane forests at elevations around 700 meters with cooler rain and mists late in the day until the temperatures drop, with moderate bright light. This orchid has closely spaced, spindle-shaped pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, narrow, strap shaped leaves and blooms on an erect, 5" [12 cm] long, apical, erect, with a few to several [4 to 10] flowered inflorescence that has fragrant flowers, occuring in the Brazilian summer and fall. Grow mounted on treefern or in baskets of chopped treefern and sphagnum with cool temperatures, bright light and watering while growing. Apply less water when the cooler weather sets in.
