Common Name Gonzalez' Encyclia [Brazilian Orchid Enthusiast current]
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
Found in Goias and Tocantins states of Brazil in the montane forests at elevations around 200 to 1000 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with conic-elongate, basally rounded, reddish initially pseudobulbs enveloped basally by imbricating, deciduous sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, erect, coriaceous, smooth, narrowly lanceolate leaves that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, erect, 24 to 36" [60 to 90 cm] long, paniculate, to 25 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, stem-clasping bracts and well spaced flowers.
Similar to Encyclia argentinensis but with smaller flowers.
