Found in Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations of 1000 to 2100 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with ovoid-fusiform to oval pseudobulbs carrying 2 linear, acuminate leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, 4" [10 cm] long, racemose inflorescence arising on a newly maturing pseudobulb with minute floral bracts and 5 to 12 starry flowers.
