Common Name The Guanahacabibes Encyclia [A pennisula in far western Cuba]

Found in westernmost Cuba at elevations of sea level to 100 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped below by evansescent sheaths and carrying 1 to 3, apical, erect, coriaceous, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, stout, paniculate, 22" [to 55 cm] long, to 45 flowered inflorescence with scarious, clapsing, ovate acute bracts.
