This small to medium sized, hot to cold growing, epiphytic species is found from Venezuela, Colombia through Peru at elevations of 1300 to 3000 meters often in full sun with clustered, compressed, conical to ellipsoid pseudobulbs carrying a single [mostly], linear-elliptic, acute leaf and blooms in the spring on an apical, 5 1/2" [14 cm] long, erect, few to several flowered, racemose inflorescence arising on a newly matured psuedobulb with fleshy, non-resupinate flowers.
