A hot to cool growing epiphyte and sometimes lithophyte, that is endemic to the wooded slopes of western Mexico in oak trees at elevations of 550 to 2200 meters where it blooms variably throughout the year on an apical, 6" [16 cm] long, erect, racemose inflorescence arising on a mature, narrowly ellipsoid, slightly compressed psuedobulb as a new one develops, with basal, scarious, triangular sheaths, that is the length of the leaves or less carrying 4 to 12, small, simultaneously opening flowers.
