Found in Venezuela as a medium sized epiphyte with ovoid psedobulbs carrying 2, apical, eredct-patent, ligulate, obtuse, coriaceous leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, peduncle 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, terete, glabrous, strict, , narrowly paniculate, rachis to 8" [20 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with triangular, subacute floral bracts and carrying green suffused with brown flowers with a yellow white lip with a few red dotted lines.
CAUTIONKew has Epidendrum halatum as a synonym of E recurvata, but it was also used as a specimen to describe the new species Encyclia ivoniae . They certainly are close and if they are the same them E recurvata should take precedence.
