Found in Pinar del Rio province of Cuba on trees on evergreen thickets in serpentine regions at elevations around 350 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with clustered, ovate-pyriform pseudobulbs enveloped by evanescent sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, coriaceous, narrowly lanceolate, acute, conduplicate into the base leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, slender, paniculate, many flowered inflorescence with small, clasping, triangular, acute, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
