Common Name Steinbach's Encyclia [German Collector in Bolivia 1900's]
Flower Size 1.4" [3.6cm]
Found in Santa Cruz department of Bolivia on rocks in open places at elevations around 450 meters as a medium sized, hot growing, rupicolus orchid and has ellipsoid to narrowly ellipsoid pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3 apical, rigid, linear clear green leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer in cultivation in the northern hemisphere on a nodding, 10" [20 cm] long, paniculate, each branch carrying 2 to 3 flowers, 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence.
Characterized by the clear green flowers with purple markings on the lateral lobes of the lip, the oblong lateral lobes, the column with auricles and the pustulate ovary
