Common Name Violet-scented Encyclia
Flower Size 1 1/4" [3.25 cm]
Found in Guyana, French Guiana and Brazil as a miiniature to small sized, hot growing, epiphyte with subglobose pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3 apical, coriaceous, rigid, oblong-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a terminal, erect, to 12" [30 cm] long, densly many [4 to 10] flowered inflorescence with violet scented flowers.
Some sources say E flabelifera is synomonous with this determination others E euosma and still others [Kew] cite all three as valid so I have kept them separate for now. They do all seem fairly similar.
