Common Name The Fragrant Encyclia - Capart's Scented Encyclia

Flower Size to 2" [to 5 cm]

Found in Minas Gerais, Goias, Rio De Janiero, Sao Paulo and Espirito Santo states of Brazil at elevations of 400 to 1200 meters in Atlantic coastal rainforests and the central plateau as a small sized, hot to cool growing, bifoliate epiphyte with ovate-elongate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several imbricating, evanescent leaf sheaths and carrying 2 to 3, apical, coriaceous, smooth, narrowly lanceolate, cymbidiform leaves that blooms in the spring in Brazil on a profusely branched, erect, to 3' [90 cm] long, loosely many [30] flowered inflorescence with lanceolate clasping stem bracts and very fragrant, long-lasting flowers.

Similar to E advena but differs in the relatively long mid lobe/lateral lobes of the lip.
