Found in New Guinea on trees in montane forests at elevations around 1000 to 1100 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome giving rise to cylindric, somewhat compressed, superposed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, lorate-ligulate, acute to subacute that blooms in the summer and fall on a shortly fasciculate, peduncle filiform, glabrous, 2.6" [6,5 cm] long, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence
