Found in New Guinea on trees in montane forests at elevations around 1800 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome giving rise to cylindrical, somwewhat compressed, superposed, new pseudobulbs arising from the apex of the mature pseudobulb carrying a single, linear, subacute oblique narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on a shortly fasciculate, peduncle filiform, thin, glabrous, to 4" [10 cm] long, 5 to 10 flowered flowered inflorescence with minute, squamiform, apiculate bracts.
