Found in New Guinea on trees in lowland forests at elevations around 300 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome giving rise to cylindrical, slightly compressed, superposed pseudobulbs arising from near the tip of the previous pseudobulb and carrying lorate-ligulate, acute, apiculate leaf that blooms in the fall on a shortly fasciculate, filiform, glabrous, to 3.6" [9 cm] long, 15 to 20 flowered inflroescence
