Common Name The Waxy Flowered Epidendrum

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in northern and northwestern Venezuela in somewhat stunted forests at elevations around 1800 meters as a large sized, cool growing epiphyte with tough, terete, branched, repent, becoming laterally compressed towards the apex stems carrying a few, at the apex of the stem, linear-lanceolate, acute, sessile, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, successively single flowered inflorescence hidden within the 5 to 6, thin, compressed, green to pale brown, imbricating bracts.
