Found in Cundinamarca department of Colombia and Venezuela at elevations around 2700 to 2800 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with stems completely enveloped by leaf sheaths and carrying several coriaceous, distichous, oblong-lanceolate, obtuse leaves that are articulated below to the leaf sheaths that blooms in the winter on a terminal, pendent, racemose, 4" [10 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence arising through a falcate, carinate spathe.
