This is a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial or lithophytic reedstem orchid that grows in Venezuela and northeastern Brazil with cane-like, simple stems carrying several, alternately 2 ranked, oblong to elliptic-oblong, rounded to obtuse, coriaceous leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, racemose or paniculate, to 6' [180 cm] long, few to many flowered, umbelliform inflorescence with successive opening flowers.
