Found in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janiero states of Brazil on mountain ridges at elevations around 1500 meters as a small to just medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a very woody, brownish, jointed, cane-like stem carrying 2 apical, dark green, deeply keeled, lanceolate, deciduous leaves that blooms in the later summer and early fall on a short, terminal, fasciculate, 7 flowered inflorescence.
