Found in Bahia, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo states of Brazil at elevations around 1000 meters as a medium to large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with narrowly elliptic in cross-section cylindrical, cane-like branching stems carrying alternate, linear, acute leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a terminal, pendent, shorter than the leaves, few to 12 flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers
