Found in Taiwan as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing, mat forming epiphyte that blooms in the summer on a terminal, short, arcuate, single flowered inflorescence holding the flower just above the plant.
CAUTION!!!!!!! This species is mentioned as a synonym of E fargesii and I feel that this is most likely correct if the photos are truely E sanseiense but Kew gives the synonym as E nakaharaei
CAUTION!!!! This species is also often cited as a synonym of E nakaharaei but there are many obvious visual differences so I will leave them separate at this time and am sure that they are not synomonous if these photos are truely E sanseiense.
