Found in Papua New Guinea in subalpine and montane scrub at elevations of 2500 to 3100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with glabrous, close set, ellipsoid to obovoid, 2 noded, slightly 8 ribbed, transversely ribbed between the longitudinal ribs in maturity pseudobulb carrying 2, apical, patent to spreading, coriaceous, glabrous, ovate to elliptic, midrib deeper grooved than the lateral nerves, unequally bidentate apically, narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a glabrous, slightly compressed, 1.4 to 1.8" [3.5 to 4.7 cm] long, 2 flowered inflorescence
