Found in Minas Gerais and Parana' states of Brazil at elevations of 300 to 600 meters as a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing reed-stem epiphyte with erect, leafy in the upper third stems carrying dark green, alternate, lanceolate, papery, conduplicate, mildly keeled leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer and again in the mid fall on a terminal, short, racemose, bractless, to 5 flowered inflorescence arising on mature and leafless canes but not on new growths
