Found in France, Corsica, Switzerland, Czechloslaovakia, Italy and Sicily at the edges of mixed forests at elevations of 600 to 1400 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 8, near alternate, spreading-near arching, to flat, fine, irregular serrations on the margins leaves thta blooms in the late spring and summer on a terminal, erect, rather lax, 8 to 32 flowered inflorescence
