Found in Czechloslovakia, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece, the Transcaucaus and Turkey in old growth deciduous forests at elevations of 500 to 1500 meters as a small to just medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with spindly, densely hairy stems carrying 3 to 7, dark green, more or less spirally arranged, spreading-erect cauline leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a terminal, erect, 1.2 to 2.8" [3 to 7 cm] long, lax, often near one sided, 7 to 14 flowered inflorescence
