A French, small to medium sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid in full sun to part shade on calcareous substrates in downy oak forests at elevations of 200 to 500 meters with a thick, yellowish green, slightly purple, pubescent towards the apex stem carrying 4 to 8 cauline, yellowish-green erect, arching, channelled, undulate margins, finely and irregularily serrated leaves and above a few oval-lanceolate leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, laxly many [10 to 23] flowered inflorescence occuring in the late spring .
