Found in Bolivia in subxerophytic, montane forests with scandent, slender, terete, basally thickened stems enveloped by evanescent sheaths from the midpoint down and by foliaceous sheaths above and carrying distichous, narrowly ovate-oblong, acute leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, arched, racemose, 6" [15 cm] long overall, densely 6 to 11 flowered inflorescence carrying flowers that are adpressed to the rachis.
