Found in Colombia and Ecuador as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with erect, leafy stem carrying amplexicaul, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate to acute, shiny, cordate at the sessile base leaves that blooms on a terminal, racemose, loosely several flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying rather fleshy flowers.
