Found in Vaupes department of Colombia and Guyana at elevations around 200 to 1150 meters as a large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with simple, erect stems carrying several, coriaceous, shiney, linear-lanceoalte to ovate-lanceolate, shortly acuminate, shortly petiollate base leaves that blooms in the later summer on a terminal, to 8" [20 cm] long, sub-lax, successively single, 10 to 25 flowered inflorescence with inconspicuous, ovate-lanceolate floral bracts and carrying resupinate, relatively small purple flowers .
"Appears to be somewhat similar to E. parvi?orum, from which it differs by having shortly petiolate leaves, the lip strongly thickened and covered by soft hairs along mid-vein in the basal half, and by very long hairs above."
