Found in Chimborazo province of Ecuador on the western slope of the Andes at elevations around 3000 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with simple, generally superposed, leafy stems carrying erect-patent to suberect, coriaceous, glabrous, linear-ligulate, obtuse to unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms on a terminal, nutant, short, .72" [1.8 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with patent, lanceolate, acuminate, somewhat shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, fleshy, glabrous, nutant, subglobose, dark colored flowers.
