Common Name The Almost Crawling Epistephium
Flower Size 2” [5 cm]
Found in Guyana and northern Brazil in open places usually on sandstone outcroppings at elevations of 100 to 1500 meters as a giant sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with a basally more or less prostrate becoming erect above stem carrying short scales below and well separated narrowly elliptic to narrowly lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves above that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, 6 to 10” [15 to 25 cm] long, successively single, several flowered inflorescence with triangular-ovate, acute floral bracts
