Common Name The Rigid Formed Epidendrum

Found in Huanuco department of Peru on trees in cloud forests at elevations around 2800 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with leafy stems enveloped completely by strongly complanate, tubular leaf bearing sheaths carrying 5, loosely distichous, ovate to oblong-ovate, rounded, minutely bilobed apically, basally amplexicaul leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, peduncle 4.4" [11 cm] long, concealed by 2 to 3, strictly erect, conduplicate, imbricating, rounded to acute apically spathes, rachis, 3.6" [9 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with lax, linear-lanceolate, lower ones slightly longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, pale brownish-green flushed with purple, spreading flowers.
