Found in Sumatra and northern Borneo in lowland and lower montane forests from sea level to 1600 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with close set, oblong, oval in cross-section, 2 to 3 noded pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, lanceolate leaf that blooms on an erect, peduncle to 6" [15 cm] long, rachis to 6.8" [17 cm] long, finely hairy, pale green suffused with purple, densely many flowered inflorescence
