Common Name The Fat Eria [refers to the pseudobulb]

Found in Assam, Myanmar and Thailand at elevations around 500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with close set, short, very stoutly clavate, silvery green, with longitudinal purple lined pseudobulbs enveloped by scarious sheaths and carrying 4 to 5, apical, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, basally clasping leaves that are absent at blooming which occurs in the summer on a few to several, lateral, sub-corymbose, puberulous, racemose, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with large, ovate, thin, entire, acute floral bracts.
