Found in Assam, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam in open, mossy, primary, semideciduous, mixed and coniferous forests on rocky karst limestone at elevations of 400 to 1600 meters as small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with erect, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying 4 apical leaves that blooms in the summer on 1 to 3, to 4" [to 10 cm] long, to 15 flowered inflorescence and carrying flowers that have a strong mushroom smell.
