Found in Sulawesi in montane forests in the forrks of large trees and on old coffee bushes at elevations of 900 to 15000 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with cane-like stems carrying several, linear leaves that blooms in the suumer and fall on 7 to 8, to 8" [to 20 cm] long, successively 5 to 10, many flowered inflorescence
