Common Name or Meaning The Yellow Lip Eria

Flower Size .6" [1.5 cm]

Found in Vietnam, southern Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and the northern Phillipines in lowland, hill and lower montane forests near lakes and rivers from 300 to 1600 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte with a clavate pseudobulb carrying up to 5, lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the summer on 1 to 4, terminal, held horizontal, brown hairy, 2" to 3.6" [5 to 9 cm] inflorescence with refelexed, ovate, acute, light green floral bracts and carrying up to 25 short-lived, fragrant flowers.

This species does best mounted and needs less water during the blooming season. This species and E lamonganensis are similar but differ in that this species has 1" [2.5 cm] betweeen each stem, no irregular calli on the midlobe of the lip which is only yellow and has long, lanceolate flower bracts and long, oblong, truncated on top side lobes of the lip.
