Found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania at elevations of 30 to 1000 meters occuring in a variety of habitat from sclerophyll forest to grassland as a small sized, cold growing, leafless, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with a globose tuber giving rise to an erect stem that blooms in the late spring through fall on an erect, 10" [25 cm] tall, 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence
