Common Name The Two-Lobed Eriopsis

Flower Size 1" [2.4 cm]

Found from Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana and northern Brazil on exposed, steep, rocky or clay slopes in wet montane forests at elevations of 500 to 2000 meters as a stout, large sized, warm to cool growing, occasional epiphyte and lithophyte as well as sometimes terrestrial with conic, longitudinally rugose pseudobulbs with 2 to 3 elliptic, petiolate, abruptly acute, basally clasping leaves and flowers in the summer on a basal, erect, to about 5' [150 cm] long, cylyndric, racemose inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb with up to 35 simultaneously opening, waxy, fragrant flowers.

Distinguished from the others in the genus by the prescence of 2 blade-like calli and some warts in front.
