Found in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria and Cameroon in swamps as a hot growing terrestrial with a thick, tuber-like rhizome giving rise to an erect stem carrying 3 to 4, arising after flowering, plicate, lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on an erect, 24 to 28" [60 to 70 cm] long, taowards the apex, simultaneously 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers
