Found in eastern Himalayas, northern Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam at elevations around 700 to 750 meters as a medium sized, warm terrestrial orchid with a large tuber-like pseudobulb carrying oblong to elliptic lanceolate, acuminate leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, robust, to 18" [to 45 cm] long, many [50]flowered, racemose, inflorescence with very slender bracts that are as long as the ovary
