Found in southeast Madagascar humid evergreen forests at elevations of 1800 to 1900 meters as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid with bright yellow, shiny, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3, narrowly linear-lanceolate to oblanceolate, acute, plicate leaves that blooms in the early summer on a pale, 8" [20 cm] long, shorter than the leaves, 8 to 12 flowered inflorescence with 6 membraneous sheaths .
