Found in northwestern Madagascar on shady wet rocks at elevations around 500 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing lithophyte with subterranean, fusiform pseudobulbs carrying fleshy, linear, acute leaves with an inflated sheathing base that blooms in the winter on an erect, branching, longer than the leaves, to 18" [45 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence.
