Found in the Comoros and central Madagascar in montane forests at elevations of 1000 to 1500 meters as a medium sized, cool grwoing terrestrial with fusiform-cylindrical, green pseudobulbs carrying 5 to 7, in a fan, grass-like leaves taht blooms in the winter through spring on an erect, 16 to 20" [40 to 50 cm] long, unbranched, 20 to 30 flowered inflorescence.
