Found in Ghana, Uganda, Sudan and South Sudan at elevations around 200 to 1080 meters as a hot growing terrestrial with an erect stem enveloped basally by 4, sublax, lanceolate, acuminate sheaths that blooms in the winter on an erect, peduncle terete, 6 to 9.6" [15 to 24 cm] long, rachis somewhat fractiflex, 8 to 10.8" [20 to 27 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with patent to reflexed, narrowly lanceolate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts amd carring ascending, patent to descending, greenish brown to reddish flowers with a yellow lip.

" This species is clearly referable to the group containing E. clitellifera and E. pyrophila in which the sepals are almost the same length as the petals though considerably narrower. It is characterised by the long very slender spur, which gives it the same appearance as small flowered plants of E. orthoplectra in which, however, there is a marked disparity in the lengths of the sepals and petals. The scape, which is the only part known to me, is tall and relatively slender with up to 25 flowers. Whether the leaves develop some time after the flowers or whether they do not develop at all, as is the case with a number of other African species of Eulophia, has not yet been determined."
