Found in Mexico, Belize Guatemala and Nicaragua in montane cloud forests at elevations around 900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with basal, elliptic to obovate, apiculate, gradually narrowing into the shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on a capitate, 1" [2.5 cm] long, pilose inflorescence completely covered by pilose, elongate, acute bracts and carrying a head of many flowers at the apex.
