Found in New Guinea in montane forests in humus at elevations of 350 to 1000 meters as a hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying several, ovate, acute, abruptly narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and earlier spring on a terminal, erect, pubescent, several flowered inflorescence with the flowers all held to one side and pubescent, acute floral bracts
